Beta Centauri (β Centauri, afgekort as Beta Cen of β Cen), met die tradisionele naam Hadar,[10] is ’n driedubbelester in die suidelike sterrebeeldSentour (Centaurus). Die stelsel se gesamentlike skynbare magnitude van 0,61 maak dit die tweede helderste ster in Sentour en een van die helderste sterre in die naglug. Volgens metings van die Hipparcos-satelliet[11][12] is dit sowat 390 ligjare van die Son af.[2]
Beta Centauri is goed in die Suidelike Halfrond bekend as die binneste van twee sterre wat wys na die asterisme bekend as die Suiderkruis. ’n Lyn wat van die ander aanwyser, Alpha Centauri, deur Beta Centauri getrek word, lei na binne ’n paar grade van Gamma Crucis, die ster aan die bopunt van die kruis. Deur ’n lyn van dié ster af te trek na Alpha Crucis aan die onderkant van die kruis, kan ’n navigator vasstel waar suid is.[13]
