Faktor nervnog rasta (NGF) je neurotrofni faktor i neuropeptid koji je prvenstveno uključen u regulaciju rfasta. održavanje, proliferaciju i preživljavanje određenih ciljnih neurono. To jest protein koji je kod ljudi kodiran genom NFG sa hromosoma 1. To je možda prototip faktora rasta, po tome što je bio jedan od prvih koji je opisan. Otkako su ga prvi put izolovali nobelovci Rita Levi-Montalcini i Stanley Cohen 1956. godine, identificirani su brojni biološki procesi koji uključuju NGF, a dva od njih su opstanak beta ćelija gušterače i regulacija imunskog sistema.
