Leptin (grč. λεπτός - leptos = tanak) je proteinski hormon sa 16 kDa. Učestvuje u regulaciji unosa i potrošnje energije, putem uvećavanja apetita i metabolizma. To je jedan od najvažnijih hormona adipoznog porijekla.[5] Gen Ob(Lep) (latinskiobese - gojazan) kod čovjeka je na hromosomu 7.[6]
