This is a replacement for {{Infobox football biography/old}} (which is now deprecated, and has been removed), with the club appearances split into individual attributes for accessibility reasons.

Try to always consider that an infobox exists to support an article and provide a quick synopsis of important facts. This becomes vital when considering that the amount of space available within an infobox is significantly less than that available outside of it.

As per the manual of style entry on linking, years should not be linked as they do not provide much benefit to the user.

Do not add flag icons to the birth_place, death_place, club, national team or other fields. See: Wikipedia:Manual of Style (flags).

As per the manual of style the player's height should be in the units most common in the country in which he or she plays. Units should be abbreviated in the infobox and spelt out in the article text. Use standard abbreviations when using symbols such as metre is m, centimetre is cm, inch is in (not " or ″), foot is ft (not ' or ′). Put a non-breaking space ( ) between the value and the unit symbol, for example 1.98 m not 1.98m. Do not append an s for plurals of unit abbreviations. For example, kg, in, yd, lb not kgs, ins, yds, lbs.

Ideally, measurements should be presented using the {{convert}} template, which automatically converts units between formats and handles the presentation of units. In this case, use the |abbr=on flag to ensure that units are presented in their short forms.

Some examples of correct usage:

• 2.00 m
• 5 ft 10 in (1.78 m)
• 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in)

and using {{convert}}:

• {{convert|5|ft|10|in|abbr=on}} produces 5 tr 10 mod (1.78 m)
• {{convert|1.78|m|abbr=on}} produces 1.78 m (5 tr 10 mod)

If providing a total row for goals scored, enter the Total in a new years column - do not add it in the clubs column.

The HTML markup produced by this template includes an hCard microformat, which makes the person's details parsable by computers, either acting automatically to catalogue articles across Wikipedia or via a browser tool operated by a reader, to (for example) add the subject to an address book or database. Date-of-birth ("bday") information will only be included in the microformat if {{Birth date}}, {{Birth date and age}}, {{Birth-date}} ({{bday}}), or {{Birth-date and age}} ({{b-da}}) are used in the infobox. (but do not use these if the date is before 1583).
