Rheolaeth awdurdod

O fewn byd y llyfrgell, rheolaeth awdurdod (Saesneg: authority control) ydy'r broses sy'n rhoi trefn ar gatalogi gwybodaeth drwy wahaniaethu rhwng fwy nag un person, lle, peth, syniad ayb o'r un enw a diffinio eitem arbennig mewn modd unigryw.^[1][2] Daw'r enw o'r broses o 'awdurdodi' enwau pobl, llefydd, pethau, syniadau ayb i gategori arbennig.^[3][4][5] Mae'r awdurdod yn unigryw i'r person neu'r peth, yn fath o ddynodwr neu ID ac yn cael ei roi mwn modd cyson drwy'r catalog cyfan.^[6] Mae'r Awdurdod yn 'siarad' neu'n croesweithio gyda data cyffelyb, gan ddolennu a chroesgyfeirio.^[6][7] Mae pob pennawd yn disgrifio'n fras ei sgop a'i ddefnydd ac yn helpu'r llyfgellydd i sicrhau mynediad rhwydd a chyfeillgar gan y defnyddiwr i mewn i'r wybodaeth a geisir.^[8][9]
