Crisialegydd o Gymru oedd William Hallowes Miller (6 Ebrill 1801 – 20 Mai 1880), a hanodd o'r Felindre, Llangadog, Sir Gaerfyrddin.^[1] Sefydlydd wyddoniaeth grisial a elwir yn 'grisialegaeth'. Er iddo raddio yn 1826 mewn mathemateg yng Ngholeg Sant Ioan, Caergrawnt, yn 31 oed, cafodd ei benodi'n Athro adran mwynoleg y coleg yn 1832.^[2]

Caiff ei gysylltu gyda dwy gangen o wyddoniaeth: adnabyddwyd ei theori grisialaeth drwy'r byd fel 'System Miller', ac mae ei waith ar grisialau'n dal i enyn parch ac edmygedd hyd heddiw. Cyhoeddodd ei waith mewn erthygl o'r enw Treatise on Crystallography yn 1839.^[3]

Roedd hefyd yn un o'r gwyddonwyr pwysicaf i ddylanwadu ar system mesur a phwysau Senedd Lloegr yn 1834.
