Bacillus anthracis (zu lateinisch Bacillus, und zu anthracis, von griechisch ἄνθραξ, anthrax, „Kohle“) ist der Erreger des Milzbrandes. Das Bakterium gehört in die Gruppe der grampositiven Bakterien und bildet dort gemeinsam mit anderen Bakterien die Familie der Bacillaceae.[1]
