Ilves were the defending champions,[3] but they were eliminated by HJK in Round 5.
KuPS won the cup on 21 September 2024 (their fifth Finnish Cup win), defeating Inter Turku 2–1 in the final, which was played in a new Tammelan Stadion, opened in 2023.[4]
For the first time in adult football matches played in the Finnish leagues, a VAR system was used in the semi-finals and a final.[5]
