A Medal for Leroy is a British children's novel written by Michael Morpurgo, and illustrated by Michael Foreman. It was originally published in Great Britain by HarperCollins in September 2012. The inspiration behind the novel is Walter Tull, Britain's first black Army officer to lead white British troops into battle. The novel explores the relationships between identity, nation, race and history.[1]
