Allen Robert Tannenbaum (January 25, 1953 – (2023-12-28)December 28, 2023) was an American applied mathematician who finished his career as a Distinguished Professor in the Departments of Computer Science and Applied Mathematics & Statistics at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Tannenbaum's research covered numerous areas, including robust control, computer vision, biomedical imaging, and bioinformatics, totaling almost 500 publications.[citation needed]
