Camilla Rothe (born 20 September 1974 in Heidelberg) is a German physician and tropical medicine specialist. She diagnosed the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in Germany, and her scientific work helped confirm that the virus could be transmitted asymptomatically.[1] Time named her one of the 100 most influential people of the year in 2020,[2] and her discovery has been credited with saving countless lives.
She had just discovered Germany's first case of the new coronavirus.
