Dammam No. 7 also known as "Prosperity Well,"[2] is an oil well located in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, notable for being the site where commercial quantities of oil were first discovered in the country on March 4, 1938.[3] This discovery marked the beginning of Saudi Arabia's transformation into one of the world's leading oil producers. The well, which operated until its closure in 1982, is now a historic landmark and part of an Aramco museum.[4]
