Regnfors' father is Japanese and his mother is Swedish.^[1] He was born in Sweden, but spent his first year of life in Japan.^[1] His parents had met on a kibbutz in Israel.^[1] When his parents separated, he moved with his mother to Sweden.^[1] He attended high school at the Stockholm Theatre Elementary School [Sv] and graduated from the Theatre Academy [Sv] in Gothenburg in 2010.^[1]
