Dorothy Madge Smith CBE (14 August 1895 – 5 January 1991)[1] was an influential nursing leader and matron of two large voluntary hospitals in London: firstly the Middlesex Hospital,[2] and secondly Guys hospital.[3][4] She was Chairman of the General Nursing Council (GNC).[5][6]
