Draft:N. U. Nachappa

N U Nachappa is an Indian activist, spearheading a struggle for a separate homeland for Kodagu within the Indian Union.[1] For two decades, he demanded statehood for Kodagu, but now he has dropped his demand to instead ask for an Autonomous Council.[2] He heads the Codava National Council(CNC), which has been called the largest political group in the Kodagu district.[3] He demands geo-political autonomy for indigenous Kodavas and their lands and recognition of their cultural heritage and rights.[4][5][6][7]
