The Grand Ballon (French pronunciation: [ɡʁɑ̃ balɔ̃]) or Great Belchen[2][3] (German: Großer Belchen [ˌɡʁoːsɐ ˈbɛlçn̩]; Alsatian: Grosser Belchen) is the highest mountain of the Vosges, located 25 kilometres (16 mi) northwest of Mulhouse, France. It is also the highest point of the Grand-Est French region.[4]
