Mor Gregorios Joseph (born 10 November 1960) is a Syriac Orthodox archbishop, who is currently serving as the Malankara Metropolitan of the Syriac Orthodox Church in India.[1][2][3]
Following the death of Baselios Thomas I, he was unanimously elected as Catholicos of India, during the Regional Malankara Synod held on December 8, 2024.[4] He is set to be elevated on March 25, 2025 at St. Mary's Cathedral, Atchaneh, Lebanon in a service presided by Ignatius Aphrem II, where he will be given the name Baselios Joseph I.[5]
