Jean Tolhurst

Jean Christa Tolhurst was an Australian bacteriologist who discovered Mycobacterium ulcerans, the organism responsible for skin ulcers.[1] She was an accomplished scientist who made critical contributions to medical microbiology, antibiotics, and chemotherapy under great physical hardship.[1]
