Kapoor or Kapur is a surname of the Punjabi Khatri caste. They have several gotra and clans. Among the Gotra, the common ones are Kashyap, Bharadwaj, and Kaundal. Several Rajput clans are distinguished which also use surnames like Jaswal, Jammual, Patial, Chandel, Katoch and others like Kapoor and Gangotiya.[2] The surname is predominantly found in the Punjabi Hindu communiy.[3][full citation needed][4]
