The leader of the Liberal Party (French: chef du parti libéral) is the highest position within Canada's Liberal Party. The current holder of the position is Justin Trudeau, who was elected to the position on April 14, 2013, following his landslide victory against Joyce Murray in the party's leadership election. On 6 January 2025, Trudeau announced he would resign as Liberal leader and Prime Minister of Canada by 24 March 2025 upon the election of a new party leader.[1]
