Luis von Ahn (Spanish: [ˈlwis fon ˈan]; born 19 August 1978) is a Guatemalan-American entrepreneur and software developer. He is the founder of the company reCAPTCHA, which was sold to Google in 2009,[2] and the co-founder and CEO of Duolingo.[3] For these projects and others, von Ahn is known as one of the pioneers of crowdsourcing.

Von Ahn was a professor in the Computer Science Department at Carnegie Mellon University.[4][5][6][7][8]
