Meritxell Batet Lamaña (Catalan pronunciation: [məɾiˈtʃeʎ βəˈtɛt]; born 19 March 1973) is a Spanish jurist, politician, and member of the Socialists' Party of Catalonia (PSC), who served as President of the Congress of Deputies from 2019 to 2023. Prior to this, she served as Minister for Territorial Policy and Civil Service of the Government of Spain between June 2018 and May 2019.
A lecturer of Constitutional Law at Pompeu Fabra University, she has been a member of the Socialist Parliamentary Group in the 8th through 14th terms of the lower house.
