Michel Franco (born 28 August 1979) is a Mexican filmmaker.[1] He gained recognition for his film After Lucia that won the Prize Un Certain Regard at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.[2] He has since directed several independent films, including New Order (2020) and Memory (2023).

His films typically deal with themes of dysfunctional families. Franco has received numerous awards in film festivals like Cannes, Venice and Chicago.[3][4][5]
