Microsoft Edge Legacy (often shortened to Edge Legacy), originally released as simply Microsoft Edge or Edge is a discontinued proprietary cross-platform web browser created by Microsoft. Released in 2015 along with both Windows 10 and Xbox One, it was built with Microsoft's own proprietary browser engine, EdgeHTML, and their Chakra JavaScript engine.[5]

Edge Legacy was superseded by "New Edge" (based on Chromium) on January 15, 2020.[6][7] Support for Edge Legacy ended on March 9, 2021, ending a support transition period lasting 14 months.[8][9][10]
