Nancy González (born 1952/1953) is a Colombian handbag designer who was found guilty of smuggling exotic animal skins of protected species.[2][3] She received an 18-month prison sentence.[4][5][6] The indictment also charged two employees who worked for her Colombian manufacturing firm.[7]
Her bags were sold in stores including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Harrods; and Victoria Beckham, Salma Hayek, Britney Spears, the cast of Sex and the City and others have been photographed with her bags.[6]
