Patrick Desmond Carl Alexander Guinness (born 1 August 1956[citation needed] in Dublin) is an Anglo-Irish historian and author and one of the heirs of the Guinness business dynasty. Son of Desmond and Mariga Guinness, née Princess Hermione Maria-Gabrielle von Urach, he was educated at Winchester College and Trinity College Dublin. He is a financial analyst. He is a former representative of Sotheby's in Ireland.
