Rembert George Samuel Weakland OSB (April 2, 1927 – August 22, 2022) was an American Catholic prelate who served as Archbishop of Milwaukee from 1977 to 2002.[1] Weakland previously served as Abbot Primate of the Benedictine Confederation from 1967 to 1977.
In 2017, the Archdiocese of Milwaukee removed Weakland's name from an archdiocesan facility due to his poor response to the clergy sex abuse crisis and for his long-term romantic relationship with a man.
