Robert Houston Eggers (born July 7, 1983) is an American filmmaker. Largely known for writing and directing historical fiction films, his most notable works are the horror films The Witch (2015), The Lighthouse (2019) and Nosferatu (2024) as well as the action film The Northman (2022). Noted for maintaining historical authenticity,[1] his films often blend elements of horror, folklore, and mythology.
