Salsky District (Russian: Са́льский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the forty-three in Rostov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the south of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,499 square kilometers (1,351 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the town of Salsk.[1] Population: 107,795 (2010 Census);[3] 49,343 (2002 Census);[6] 45,908 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Salsk accounts for 56.9% of the district's total population.[3]
