Sima Bao (司馬保; 294 – c.July 320), courtesy name Jingdu (景度),[2] posthumous name Prince Yuan (元王), was a Western Jin imperial prince who briefly contended for the position of emperor after Emperor Min was captured by Han-Zhao forces.

  1. ^ Vol.91 of Zizhi Tongjian recorded that Sima Bao declared himself Prince of Jin between the 4th and 6th months of the 2nd year of the Tai'xing era. The period corresponds to 6 May (1st day of the 4th month) to 3 Jul (29th day of the 5th month) 319 in the Julian calendar.
