Soltonsky District (Russian: Солто́нский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the fifty-nine in Altai Krai, Russia. It is located in the east of the krai. The area of the district is 3,020 square kilometers (1,170 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Solton.[1] Population: 8,610 (2010 Census);[3] 10,954 (2002 Census);[6] 11,891 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Solton accounts for 32.2% of the district's total population.[3]
