Tanya Steel (Tanya Wenman Steel) is an American based food writer, editor, and author currently serving as the Executive Director of the Careers through Culinary Arts Program. She previously served as the editor-in-chief of Epicurious.com.
In addition to her editorial work, Steel co-authored the "Real Food for Healthy Kids"[1] cookbook, which promotes nutritious meals for children. She has also written for publications such as The New York Times, Forbes, and The Washington Post.
Steel gained international recognition for her work with the Healthy Lunchtime Challenge,[2] a partnership with first Lady Michelle Obama and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which encouraged kids to create healthy, affordable recipes. This initiative culminated in an annual Kids' State Dinner[3] at the White House, showcasing the winning dishes.
