Capitalization
The term national Scout jamboree is in lower case except when referring to a specific event. From the article proper noun:
National Scout jamboree would be a proper noun if it were a unique event, but there have been a number of such events; therefor only specific events are fully capitalized, such as 2010 National Scout Jamboree. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (capital letters) for more guidance. Scout is always capitalized within the context of the youth movement. The Boy Scouts of America has a formal style guide that codifies common usage within the context of the BSA and is compliant with other style guides— see The Language of Scouting for more guidance. |
