The Universidad de Zamboanga (UZ) is a non-profit, private educational institution established on October 12, 1948. It is Western Mindanao’s largest private educational institution catering to approximately 11,000 students and it provides secondary, tertiary, technical, and graduate programs for young adults and lifelong learners seeking quality education delivered through various learning modalities, including face-to-face, full online, and hybrid learning. It also operates branches in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, and Pagadian City to cater to students in the neighboring provinces.
The university provides secondary programs in two high school units and offers sixty-four (64) programs at its technical-vocational, tertiary, and postgraduate levels. UZ takes pride in its distinctions, with 20% of its programs accredited by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). Additionally, UZ has also been ISO PNS 9001 certified since 2002 and has migrated to the ISO PNS 9001:2015 standard. It is also certified as an Investors in People Silver for people management and holds the ISO 45001:2018 standard for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems (OH&S) and the ISO 14001:2015 standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS). UZ is globally recognized as the first and only FranklinCovey LeaderU partner in the Philippines.
