The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is a public research university in San Antonio, Texas, United States. Established in 1969,[11] UTSA is the largest university in San Antonio and the eighth-largest by enrollment in the state of Texas enrolling over 35,000 students across its five campuses spanning more than 758 acres.[12][13] It is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity".[14] The UTSA Institute for Economic Development generates $2.6 billion in direct economic impact.[15]

Student-athletes compete as The UTSA Roadrunners and are a member of The American Athletic Conference (AAC). The football team, which was founded in 2009,[16] previously competed in Conference USA, the WAC and as an FCS independent.[17][18]
