Vesyolovsky District (Russian: Весёловский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[3] district (raion), one of the forty-three in Rostov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the southern central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,355 square kilometers (523 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement) of Vesyoly.[1] Population: 26,165 (2010 Census);[2] 26,564 (2002 Census);[5] 23,016 (1989 Soviet census).[6] The population of Vesyoly accounts for 35.1% of the district's total population.[2]
