This WikiProject exists to record, discuss, and manage academic studies about Wikipedia, to help researchers get access to the required and available data and users without disrupting Wikipedia, and to pursue related goals in furtherance of the Wikipedia community's practical interests in the face of the fact that Wikipedia is a significant topic of scientific interest.
It is also a space for researchers who are studying Wikipedia to interact with the Wikipedia community to discuss ideas, collaborate with each other and ensure that the methods used for gathering data and recruiting subjects account for the needs and norms of the community.
