The Working People's Alliance is a democratic socialist[3] political party in Guyana. It was a consultative member of Socialist International until 2005.
In 1973 the Working People's Alliance (WPA) was founded as a multiethnic party that advocated racial harmony, free elections, and democratic socialism.
The WPA ironically was a left wing version of the NDP but nevertheless highly middle class in its composition.
