Zonalny District (Russian: Зона́льный райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the fifty-nine in Altai Krai, Russia. It is located in the east of the krai. The area of the district is 1,717 square kilometers (663 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Zonalnoye.[1] Population: 19,676 (2010 Census);[3] 20,571 (2002 Census);[6] 20,982 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Zonalnoye accounts for 17.3% of the district's total population.[3]
