En el Reino Unido y en países de tradición británica, las letras postnominales (en inglés, post-nominal letters) se colocan después del nombre de una persona para indicar que ésta tiene una posición, oficio u honor. Una misma persona puede usar diferentes series de letras: los galardones figuran en primer lugar, en orden descendente de prioridad, seguidos por los grados y pertenencia a sociedades científicas en orden ascendente.

The Grades of the Order of St John are:

7. ↑ "Member of Parliament" is used in the UK and other Commonwealth nations to describe members of the lower house of Parliament only. In the UK, members of the House of Commons are described Members of Parliament, but members of the House of Lords are not.
