La viuda negra australiana,^[1]​^[2]​^[3]​ también conocida como la araña de lomo rojo (Latrodectus hasselti), es una especie de araña araneomorfa de la familia de los terídidos. Es una especie venenosa oriunda de Australia. Recibe su epíteto específico en honor al toxicólogo holandés Alexander Willem Michiel van Hasselt (1814-1902).
