Les avialiens (clade des Avialae) regroupent les dinosaures ayant développé la musculature adéquate pour voler. Leur nom signifie « Ailes d'oiseau ». Ils comprennent les oiseaux et quelques espèces proches, comme Jeholornis ou Sapeornis, qui possédaient une morphologie déjà très proche de celle des oiseaux. Ils forment le groupe frère des Deinonychosauriens au sein des Paraviens.
