A inspiración para o nome do álbum vén do grupo Arab Strap, que tamén é de Escocia e xirou brevemente con Belle & Sebastian. Un "arab strap" é un dispositivo sexual para manter unha erección, un feito descoñecido por Stuart Murdoch nesa época.
