Nepenthes ventricosa adalah spesies kantong semar pada dataran menengah hingga tinggi. Ia tumbuh kurang lebih 2000 m di atas permukaan laut di Filipina. Spesies ini mudah tumbuh di ambang jendela atau terarium. Secara umum, spesies kantong semar dataran tinggi lebih suka suhu di siang hari (24 °C) dan suhu malam (10-16 °C).^[2]
