Tupaia adalah sebuah genus tupai pada famili Tupaiidae yang pertamakali dideskripsikan oleh Thomas Stamford Raffles pada 1821.^[1][2] Nama dari genus ini berasal dari kata Bahasa Melayu tupai.^[3]
