Uji Solidarity

Uji Solidarity untuk perawatan adalah uji klinis Fase III-IV multinasional yang diselenggarakan oleh Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) dan mitra untuk membandingkan empat perawatan yang belum teruji untuk orang yang dirawat di rumah sakit dengan penyakit COVID-19 parah.^[1][2] Uji coba diumumkan pada 18 Maret 2020,^[1] dan pada 1 Juli, hampir 5.500 pasien di 21 negara telah direkrut untuk berpartisipasi dalam uji coba.^[3]

Pada bulan Mei, WHO mengumumkan koalisi internasional untuk secara bersamaan mengembangkan beberapa kandidat vaksin untuk mencegah penyakit COVID-19, menyebut upaya ini sebagai uji Solidarity untuk vaksin.^[4]

It is vital that we evaluate as many vaccines as possible as we cannot predict how many will turn out to be viable. To increase the chances of success (given the high level of attrition during vaccine development), we must test all candidate vaccines until they fail. WHO is working to ensure that all of them have the chance of being tested at the initial stage of development. The results for the efficacy of each vaccine are expected within three to six months and this evidence, combined with data on safety, will inform decisions about whether it can be used on a wider scale
