Pirog ( Ruslan: пиро́г, pl. pirogi пироги [pʲɪrɐˈɡʲi]  ; Bélarus: піро́г; Northern Sami; Lètlann pl. pīrāgi ; Basa Ukrania: пиріг pyrih, pl. pyrohy пироги) yaiku kuwé panggang kanthi adhonan sing legi utawa gurih.[1] Pirog umum ing masakan Eropa Wétan . Pirogi minangka "sesuguh paling kawéntar lan penting" [2] lan "barang-barang nasional sing misuwur" masakan Ruslan, "pangangan wigati ing kauripan wong Ruslan".

Jeneng kasebut asalé saka tembung pirot Proto-Slav kuno, tegese "pestha" utawa "pahargyan".[3] Pirogi jamak Ruslan kanthi suku tembung pungkasan ora kudu bingung karo pierogi (huruf"o" ing basa Polen lan Inggris) ing masakan Polen, sing padha karo pelmeni Ruslan utawa varenyky Ukrainia .
