RS-232(Recommended Standard 232[1])는 1960년에 도입된 표준의 하나로[2], PC와 음향 커플러, 모뎀 등을 접속하는 직렬 방식의 인터페이스의 하나이다. 인터페이스는 포트라고도 하여 일반적으로 직렬 포트라고 불리기도 한다.
