Carstum[1][2] (-i, n.) vel Alta planities Carstica (alia nomina: Carsia, Iulia Carsia, Carsum) (Italiane: Carso; Slovenice et Croatice: Kras; Theodisce: Karst; Foroiuliensice: Cjars) est historica et geeographica regio atque alta planities saxea et calcarea, quae sese extendit infra Italiam, Sloveniam Croatiamque.

Carsti, in Primo bello mundano, multa cruenta proelia exercitĭbus Italianis et Austro-Hungaricis certata sunt.

E toponymo Carsto Carstus chymica res et geologica oritur, idem toponyma Carnia, Carinthia et Carniola[3].
