Psocoptera (a Graeco ψῶχος 'rosum, tritum' + πτερά 'ala'[1]) sunt ordo insectorum,[2] quae primum aevo Permiano apparuerunt, abhinc annorum a 295 ad 248 millionum. Saepe habentur maxime primitiva ex paraneopterorum.[3] Sunt plus quam 5500 species in 41 familiae in tres subordines digestae, quarum specierum multae nuperrime descriptae sunt.[4]
